This way I was able to change my nutrition from day one. I’d like to let everyone know what a difference Craig has made in my life over the last few months. Three months after having my first child I was keen to start a diet and exercise regime to help shift  excess baby weight. I knew I had to do something – the weight wasn’t falling off with breastfeeding like everyone had promised me! Of course feeding my baby was always my main priority, and I felt very confused about how to lose weight whilst still maintaining a healthy milk supply and energy levels to suit the general madness of being a new mother. With a young child himself, Craig seemed the perfect person to help me through the process. Not only did he have the professional expertise to know what kinds of foods I should be eating and what kinds of exercise I should be doing, he also had the personal perspective to know just how chaotic things can get with a small baby in the house, and how things don’t always go according to plan. I realised that I was so attuned to what my baby needed that I often forgot about what I needed. Craig helped me bring my focus back to myself in a very gentle and affirming way, and helped me to see that if I wasn’t properly fed and energised, there was no way I could ensure that my baby would be properly fed and energised. It sounds like common sense now, but after 12 weeks of broken sleep it was an absolute revelation for Craig to point out that looking after myself is pretty important in the whole family equation.

I didn’t do the hard-core detoxification diet because I was breastfeeding, but I cut sugar, caffeine, rice, potatoes, wheat and cow’s milk products out of my diet completely. I lived on salads with heaps of fresh vegetables, quinoa, brown rice, lentils, nuts, avocadoes and goat’s cheese (bliss), as well as the occasional slab of chicken or beef. I enjoyed the food and I felt great – I felt like my body was working cleanly and efficiently. And for the first time in ages I actually cared what I consumed – I became interested, and that made me less lazy and less prone to bad habits like seeking sugar fixes. In the first two months when I was very diligent I lost 1kg per week, and since then the weight has been consistently dropping week by week even though I’m once again eating things that I’d previously cut out. The exercise was mild and relaxing in the beginning as I slowly recovered muscle strength in my abdomen, and then stepped up after a month or so. The important thing for me was that I did something every day – 10 minutes of interval training on the bike and a good long walk, and every other day some mat exercises.

I can’t recommend Craig highly enough – he is intelligent, positive, supportive, down to earth and extremely responsive to individual circumstances. I felt absolutely confident of his approach when he told me in the first session that his ultimate goal was for me to NOT need his help anymore – this was wonderfully honest and really underscored his approach – to help you help yourself.

I had a made a promise with myself that after the birth of my second child I would work really hard to get fit and start to eat a more healthy diet. The time came and I embarked on a twelve week programme with Matt. For someone whose book shelf contained as many takeout menus as it did books and whose idea of exercise was walking to the local shop, he had a challenge on his hands! I was initially taken with Matt’s enthusiasm and passion for what he does. It wasn’t long before we were getting real results, the weight was dropping off and I was beginning to feel good about my body and exercise, I genuinely looked forward to my training session. After having a baby, I was feeling pretty unfit, untoned and generally in need of a kick start into getting back to exercise. With regular sessions with Matt, I can see that I have toned up considerably, lost a few lingering baby pounds and feel generally fitter. I also suffered with knee pain when running for years and assumed I simply had something wrong with my knees, however, when using my new best friend, the 'foam roller', it became clear that the knee pain was probably associated with other parts of my body and not my knees. I contacted Craig a few months ago after after being overweight and out of condition for a good number of years, straight away I was met with a very warm, friendly, enthusiastic and genuine manner not on only about what he does but also what he can do for you to improve your standard of health and fitness. I had previously been given alot of misinformation and had tried several times, and unsucessfully I might add to shed some pounds and get into shape. I am training with Craig and I must say IT WORKS!! It is not a matter of killing yourself like joggin the whole day or so it is just a few exercises 2-3 times per week and more discipline in your food. Good quality food, but different from other diets, you can eat lots of things you would think are not allowed. I totally recommend him. I am still going eventhough all my jeans suit me again but just because I feel good with a healthier life!!

I contacted Craig late last year to get some help. I'd been trying to lose weight for several years, with mediocre results despite having a reasonable diet and exercising quite regularly.

Craig's approach was fantastic, and I could not recommend him highly enough to anyone who is at a stage where they want to improve their health in a way that really is sustainable, or is frustrated because they are trying to do this already with limited success.

The first step involved Craig taking the time to really get to understand my lifestyle, goals and current condition in a structured way before starting with any changes. He made a number of recommendations about changing the way I eat (how often and what types of foods) that are really not that difficult to follow. Sure, there are some foods that I no longer eat (all the time ), but there have been no real sacrifices and absolutely no need to ever feel hungry. Nutrition is something that we talk about regularly and any problems are easily overcome. The upshot: there are no fads or "diets" here, just simple, easy to follow and sustainable eating habits.

The exercise front was also an eye opener. Craig's understanding of body mechanics is fantastic. My exercise habits weren't bad – normally three sessions per week of around 40 minutes - but my efforts were misdirected. I work in an office so spend a lot of time at my desk, and had no idea how much damage not moving in the right way could do. Craig immediately got to work on fixing my body motion, especially flexibility and restoring functional muscles towards their proper state. After the fundamentals were on the right track we added exercise to increase my fitness levels and strength. The best part: most of this can be done at home with very limited equipment, so no more gym fees for me! And we regularly adjust the plan so there is no risk of boredom.

Don't get me wrong, there has been hard work and change involved here, and I had to be ready to make some fundamental changes to my diet. But the results have definitely been worth it. I've now lost 16 KG, am eating better than I have for a long time and have regained the body shape and fitness levels that I had a long time ago...
